You can reserve by writing an email to info@afenginn.dk. Write how many tickets, then we’ll reserve them to you to be picked up at the theatre at the latest 15 min before show.
Ten years ago in February all members in Afenginn met and hooked up for the first time and in May the same year we played our first concerts. And we’ve been playing more or less constantly ever since! It certainly has been a great ride to get where we are now: many hundred concerts all over the world, huge projects where we’ve played with symphony orchestra, the amazing trumpet player Frank London (Klezmatics), performing the complete Reptilica Polaris album with brassband and male choir, doing the Bellevue Summer ballet ballet with dancers from the Royal Danish Theater, received three Danish Music Awards for our four albums and many more fantastic experiences along the way.
Sometimes all these things happen and time just flies…and all of a sudden ten years – a complete decade – has passed without us really thinking that much about it, so this spring we decided to celebrate our first ten years making a spectacular show on a theater! It’s called DECENNIALE and we have invited some fantastic guest musicians: Bent Clausen (Tom Waits, New Jungle Orchestra , etc) on the marimba/vibraphone/percussion and Mads Hyhne (New Jungle Orchestra, Bugpowder, Mew) on the trombone. Besides that there will be three masculine singers (David Wijkman, Magnus Vassbotn and Jonathan Ingvald) taking hugely care of the choir parts. AND there will be a dancer (Kristina Ougaard Sørensen) moving around in the amazing scenery made by the very talented Samal Blak. AND the whole apparatus will be lighted up and making sound as good as ever thanks to our beloved crew Claus Olsen on lights and Rune Slot on the sound. We will be playing some completely new music and some old favorites…mostly in various minor keys and once in while in 4/4…
So this is the basic setup. We are looking very much forward to these shows which will take place May 11, 12 and 13th at Husets Teater in Copenhagen.
